Advanced ZAP-X Radiosurgery Technology Comes to Vestal

Neurosciences and Spine Group Medical Center is proud to announce the arrival of the ZAP-X Gyroscopic Radiosurgery Platform at our Vestal facility. This advanced technology gives patients access to a precise, non-invasive treatment option for certain neurological conditions without the need for traditional open surgery.

The launch of ZAP-X marks an important advancement for patients in Upstate New York. With this system now available closer to home, many patients can receive highly targeted care in fewer treatment sessions while staying near their families, physicians, and support networks.

ZAP-X is designed to deliver radiosurgery with exceptional accuracy. Its focused approach allows specialists to treat specific areas while helping reduce exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. One of the first patients treated with ZAP-X at our center was Keith Zulko, a Binghamton resident diagnosed with hemiballismus, a rare neurological disorder that can cause sudden, forceful, and uncontrollable movements on one side of the body.
